WELCOME
St. Augustine of
Canterbury Catholic School, founded as a parish school in 1956, assists parents
in fulfilling their responsibility to provide a Catholic education for their
children. Recognizing that each child is a unique creation of God, the school
endeavors to assist and accommodate each student's needs. Students are
encouraged to utilize their God-given gifts and talents to work happily and
creatively for the betterment of others as well as self. Students are taught
self- discipline that they may be shining examples of "disciples of Christ" to
all they meet. Participation in liturgies, sacraments, and prayer provide
students opportunities to grow in their faith. We prepare our students to be
leaders in tomorrow's world by providing a quality education rooted in Catholic
principles and Christian values. Through care, concern, and cooperation of
parents, faculty, staff, and parishioners, students are afforded a good
learning atmosphere with good physical facilities, updated materials, and
appropriate technology resources. St. Augustine School is committed to "saving
the world, one child at a time," by instilling in each student the desire to
learn, to enhance their knowledge of themselves, their world, and their role in
it. It is our goal "To Teach As Jesus Did" imparting message, developing
community, and giving service.
A
NEIGHBORHOOD SETTING
St. Augustine of

neighborhood. Centrally located in Belleville, the school is a few blocks from
main streets, providing a peaceful, neighborhood setting for the school
children. School grounds are clean, spacious and safe. A new playground has
been installed.. Parents raised funds for the playground, and on a fall
weekend, they actually built and assembled it. The school's front yard is far
